Brad Pitt Rescues Girl on Set of World War Z – For Real

Brad Pitt is taking his role as Gary Lane very seriously, apparently saving a girl about to be trampled by 700 people fleeing from raging zombies and gunfire. Filming was taking place at George Square in Glasgow, Scotland, where extras were being filmed panicking and running from the coming zombie horde. One of the actors fell, and was in danger of being trampled when Pitt rushed to her side and helped her stand up. He didn’t have time to talk with her since filming was in progress, however the woman was reportedly grateful, having suffered only a scraped knee. The Scottish Sun has the story, according to the Huffington Post blog entry.

Previously, a safety meeting had been held instructing actors to be more careful, as there has been a large number of injuries and accidents so far in the filming. Lots of extras received scrapes and bruises during the scene, and one soldier extra was even hit by a car, but landed on the car’s hood uninjured, according to People magazine. I’ve heard from Max Brooks’ agent that he in Glasgow visiting the shoot, and Friday HugAZombie posted some new set pics with some comments from Brooks himself. I’ve sent Brooks some questions about the movie’s plot change and I’m hoping he’ll be able to comment about the movie for us. Stay tuned…
