Well, it’s official. The CDC is talking about the coming zombie apocalypse – at least on their blogs. However, there is a link to the zombie blog post on the CDC’s home page (look on the lower right under the heading of Public Health Matters). Note – as of this writing, the CDC’s blog site is overloaded – this is big news and the traffic is overloading their site. Update – The Huffington Post just linked to the CDC blog with their article “The CDC Describes How To Be Prepared,” so that explains why the site is overloaded. Update 5/19 at 7 P.M. - Scientific American is reporting that the CDC admits that the zombie article crashed their website. Who says that the zombie apocalypse isn’t on our minds?
The blog writer talks about how the CDC will react to the zombie apocalypse just like any other emergency or natural disaster. For example, if a zombie apocalypse did occur…
This tells me that we’re pretty much screwed, because by the time the CDC even got their investigation started it would be too late, we’ll be overrun. It’s nice to know that they would respond, but this just reinforces my belief that we’ll be handling it ourselves.
